Deftige Aap Brewery

Restaurant and brewery De Deftige Aap occupies one of Helmond’s oldest buildings. 

Its historic setting provides the foundation for an interior rich in craftsmanship and identity.

Robust materials define the space. A bar made from old safe doors and railway sleepers, topped with copper, forms its centrepiece. Details invite discovery, from sandbag pulleys by the kitchen windows to a mechanically rotating glass rack above the entrance bench.

The brewery remains in full view behind large steel-framed glass partitions set between substantial timber columns, making the brewing process part of the guest experience.

The result is a hospitality interior with strength, warmth and a strong sense of history: the ideal setting to enjoy craft beer.
